Student Integration Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:
Intake, assess, and register students in appropriate classes. Input and review required data in the ALP data management systems. Perform required student outreach and follow-up. Coordinate with other staff and partners to ensure student goals are met.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. College degree preferred or equivalent work experience
2. High proficiency in spoken and written English
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
4. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
5. Ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse lifestyles and cultural   
    backgrounds
6. Multilingual proficiency strongly preferred
7. Strong digital literacy strongly preferred, with preference for candidates experienced
     in CRM or LMS platforms
8. Comfort communicating by phone with non-native English speakers
9. Comfort handling cash and credit card transactions

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct student intakes and class registrations, including, but not limited to:
    a. Schedule intake and testing appointments with prospective students via phone,
         email, SMS, walk-in, or partner referral
    b. Create student accounts and provide training on appropriate distance education
        platforms
    c. Supervise pre- and post-testing and place students in appropriate class levels
    d. Identify student learning goals and barriers to success
    e. Process student class payments
2. Enter and maintain accurate student attendance hours, distance learning hours, pre- and post-test scores, and other required data in ALP internal and state databases
3. Create and close quarterly classes across ALP internal and state databases
4. Provide front desk coverage approximately 40% of the workday (3+ hours daily), including answering phone calls, assisting walk-in students, and responding to current student inquiries
5. Substitute in classes as needed
6. Collaborate with staff to provide volunteer support on student-related matters
7. Advise and refer students to appropriate ALP and community programs and classes
8. Accept additional assignments as directed by supervisor to support program quality, and maintain ongoing coordination with colleagues and volunteers
