Thank you for all of your support at our 25th BizBee! It was a great night of cheering, spelling and laughter for literacy. Congratulations to Sons of Norway, winners of spelling and spirit awards! We raised over $18,000 for ALP!

If you are interested in volunteering as a literacy teacher, sign up for our next teacher training. Call 337-1981 for more information.
Our BizBee Werd Nerd and volunteer teacher, Barbara Brown, wrote a fun story about the event. Check it out!

Thanks to all who participated in the August 6, 2014 Summer Seminar in Health Literacy with Helen Osborne and Dr. Barry Weiss and several local experts active in health literacy with elders,  immigrants and refugees, people who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Check out this article about health literacy and the event by following this link:

There will be a follow-up call to the seminar on September 16, 2014, 12:15-1:15, to discuss what people have done since the conference, and problem solve as a group any issues participants are facing. Helen Osborne will participate in the call. If you would like to participate, please contact Rain Van Den Berg at for the call in information.

Thank you to the Anchorage Health Literacy Coalition's Dr. Rhonda Johnson and Dr. Barry Weiss, MD for an informative discussion on health literacy with Dr. Thad Woodard! To hear a recording of the radio show, check out the podcast on Line One Health Connection.
